On the night of December 2nd 2010, 24 year old Phoebe Handsjuk suffered a horrific and tragic death. Her lifeless mangled body was found on the floor of the refused compactor room at the bottom of the luxury high rise apartment, 'Balencea'. The apartment that she shared with her boyfriend in St. Kilda, Melbourne.
It was reported that she fell feet first from the 12th floor waste disposal shaft down to the bottom of the compactor room below, where she bleed to death. Such a bizarre and gruesome way to die.The death was investigated by the Victorian police, then five days later the homicide detectives ruled her death.a suicide... but her family isn't convinced.
When I think of suicide I imagine overdose, gun to the head, jumping of a bridge, hanging yourself; but never in my life would I ever add falling into a waste disposal shaft to the list. A human being must have a seriously disturbed mentality to ever consider that as their choice of death.
Now I would completely agree with the family and say "Yes, this women was murdered", because after the autopsy of Phoebe Handsjuk was conducted, the toxicology report revealed that she had a alcohol reading of 0.16% and high levels of prescription drug, Stilnox.
With that kind of alcohol level, I myself wouldn't be able to sit up or see straight, let a lone climb my way into a waste disposal shaft. It's too much effort for a highly drunk human being to do. Even though she was suffering from depression, dealing with the death of her grandmother and seem pretty mentally unstable. I don't think she would of taken her life in such a unconvental manner.
Hopefully Phoebe's family will eventually find out the truth behide her death and she will finally rest in peace.
