Single Review: Beyonce - "Bow Down/I Been On"

King Bey is telling all her competition and her critics to Bow Down and take several seats!
Fan's all around the world have been waiting patiently for a single from the pop icon, from her yet to be released and highly anticipated album.
Bey goes hard in this new track, produced by Polow Da Don, Timbaland, and Planet VI.. She comes out gun blazing in the first half of the song "Bow Down" when she drops lines like:
"I took some time to live my life but don't think I am just his little wife. Don’t get it twisted this is my s**t, bow down bi**hes."
She let's people know, just because she is the wife of one of the biggest rapper in the world Jay-Z, doesn't make here a little house wife who stays home. She tells us not to get it twisted, she still is one of the biggest selling female artist of all time.
The song transitions into another one called "I Been On". We hear a thuggish Bey paying homage to her hometown roots of Houston, Texas. Her voice is chopped and screwed, as she shouts out Houston legends.
This track shows a whole new harder and edger side of Bey, shutting down her critics and the media who think that after having her baby girl Blue Ivy with husband Jay Z, that she will slow down and therefore her career will diminished... Well think again, haters!

If I was gay I would think that Hip-Hop hates me

Hip-Hop and R&B in society is seen as being all about tough straight men, "bad bit*hes" and women-loving men. Association with lyrics talking about women and men being in love with each other. This perception has been around for many years, but not everything is straight forward and black & white.
With a voice of a younger and much more soulful John Legend, and the lyricism unlike any other artist or performer I've ever had the pleasure of listening to; Mr. Christopher Francis Ocean or as he is famously known as Frank Ocean, is the most bravest and courageous artist in the Hip-Hop industry today.
On July 4 2012, Frank came out as a bisexual to his fans (I being one of them) on his tumblr blog. People thought he should of kept quite and not say anything. Some of this fans stopped listening to his music, turned against him and started to verbally bash him. They thought that listening to his music will turn them gay, how crazy and ignorant does that sound? Unlike the narrow minded and ignorant people that turned their back on him; there was a large population of fans, fellow artist, actors and LGBT people that supported Frank and commended him for his fearless actions. Actions that could of ended his career due to media and social criticism.
Coming out and revealing your true sexual preference in High School or to your family is already hard and stressful enough, but to come out to the whole world who is watching your every move and in a industry that frowns upon homosexuality is unheard of. Thanks to Frank Ocean and taking a huge risk, he has been able to help others out there to open up and to not hide who they really are.

Before you leave, please listen and download Frank Ocean's amazing debut album channel ORANGE

Australia says goodbye to beloved journalist, Peter Harvey

R.I.P. 16 September 1944 - 2nd March 2012
On the 2nd March 2013 not only did the Australian media industry lose a well respected journalist, but so did the world. Harvey first made his mark in the media industry when he won a Walkley Award when he was 19 years old, while doing a cadetship with The Daily Telegraph in 1964.

He also took up a career in radio when he worked for one of Australia's oldest radio station 2UE and 2GB. He later on moved to London where he worked for BBC Radio. While in London, he earned the 'British Reporter of the Year Award' when he started working at the British daily newspaper The Guardian.

In 1975 Harvey made a change to his career when he ventured into the world of television when he joined the Nine Network as News Director in Canberra for a number of years. While at Nine, Harvey had a very successful career covering stories such as the dismissal of Prime Minister Gough Whitlam, the Vietnam war and the first and second Gulf War.

In February 1997, he transferred from Canberra to the Sydney headquarters. Sydney is where he become more of a household name when he joining the 60 minute team, where he hosted the weekly viewers' feedback segment.

I don't know what his last words were, but I would be surprised if it was: "Peter Harvey... Canberra"

“When does a blogger become a journalist?”

Journalist are people who actually go out into the world and experience issues face to face. They report on actual facts that they have gathered, therefore the facts are from a primary source and share with readers who are not able to be in the front line of these stories. Journalist aim to show every angle of a story, where as bloggers mainly post about their own opinion; which is not a bad thing at all.

In my opinion, a blogger that post serious, unbiased stories and have correct information and sources is a journalist.  I have my own Tumblr blog http://blackfluorescentink.tumblr.com/ and I mainly post about music, fashion and poetry. I would never title myself a journalist, I'm not experience enough and most of my facts are from other bloggers, websites or even from twitter. In my case I  would consider myself a blogger.

However, in the media industry a blogger would become a journalist when they have actually gained a degree in journalism and is employed by a media outlet.
